RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive
CyberResearch is committed to compliance with all applicable laws and
regulations, including the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive
of the European Union.
The RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive of the European Union
strictly limits the amount of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, and
PBB & PBDE flame retardants that can be used in new electronic and
electrical equipment sold in EU countries after July 1, 2006.
Note: All "Category 9" test, measurement, monitoring, and
control equipment are currently excluded under the scope of the
RoHS directive and are not currently required to comply with the RoHS
directive.

|
The impact of RoHS will be felt far beyond the companies that export electronic
and electrical equipment that will be sold into the European Union. Many of the
key components that are used in electronic and electrical products that you
currently buy in North America may become discontinued due to falling demand as
a result of lack of RoHS compliance. As a result, many electronic and
electrical products that you currently buy will need to be redesigned using
alternative equivalent components. Others products may be discontinued and go
end-of-life due to a lack of availability of suitable alternative components or
a lack of sufficient market demand to underwrite the cost of engineering
resources nescessary to redesign.

Currently, military and medical electronics (Category 8) and test, measurement,
and control equipment (Category 9) are excluded from restrictions and are
outside the scope of the RoHS directive and are not currently required to
comply with the RoHS directive.
If you use our products in systems that you export to the European Union, you
should carefully consider all issues of RoHS compatibility and compliance.
While CyberResearch "Category 9" products are exempt, we believe that
eliminating the hazardous substances covered in the RoHS directive is in the
best interest of our customers, our employees, and the environment. Toward this
end, CyberResearch has developed the broadest selection of RoHS-compliant
products in the measurement, monitoring, and control industry.

While many suppliers of key system components sold by CyberResearch have
announced their intention to bring many of their products into compliance with
RoHS requirements, only a limited number of these new products are currently
shipping.
Our goal is to offer a suitable RoHS-compliant alternative when available. Due
to the cost of alternative RoHS-compatible manufacturing methods, it is
expected that the cost premium for the environmentally friendly RoHS version
will be approximately 20% to 25%.
Now that the July 1, 2006 deadline has passed, we expect that the quantity of
available items will increase dramatically. We are continuously adding new RoHS
compliant products to CyberResearch's broad selection of over 4,000 items.
