Our CyMOD™ CM 4520 module is used to translate standard RS-232 signals into fully isolated RS-485 signals while providing protection against potentially damaging voltage spikes. The module automatically controls the RS-485 bus direction without external handshaking signals from the host. Host software written for half-duplex RS-232 may be used without modification.
Up to 128 CyMOD modules can be connected per converter and up to 256 modules can be connected per host serial port. Communication can range 4,000 feet per converter module, over 4,000 feet by adding CM 4510 repeaters to increase the distance.
The module is supplied with a Windows® configuration utility for module calibration, testing, and communication without having to do any programming. Drivers are available which make it easy for you to control and collect data from CyMOD modules using your own C/C++ or Visual Basic applications.
Each CyMOD module comes with everything you need for wall, DIN-rail, or piggyback mounting, so you can design a data acquisition system that fits perfectly into the space you have.
Supplied with removable DIN-rail mounting clip and painted steel mounting plate for wall-mounting. Without DIN clip, module is just 1" (25mm) high. |
