Industrial computer systems have traditionally favored backplane-based
solutions, both for their range of expansion slots and for easy maintenance.
CyberResearch, Inc. can often upgrade you to a backplane that matches your
expansion slot requirements. It is important to remember, however, that not all
similar backplanes fit into the same size chassis. Length of expansion cards,
type and physical configuration of CPU cards, and placement of obstructions in
the chassis are also major considerations in the choice of backplanes
The PBPR 14A passive backplane includes up to 4 PCI slots (1
may be blocked depending on PICMG CPU card format and placement), 2 PICMG slots
(1 may be used for the CPU, the other as a regular ISA slot), and up to 8 ISA
slots (again, an ISA slot or two may be blocked depending on CPU format). Check
out the CPU card section to find a compatible PICMG CPU card |
