Introduction

The simplest way to protect your data is to take it out of the PC. That lets you share PCs without sharing data, and limits the amount of time hackers have to get into your confidential files. Our DataPak mounting systems turn ordinary hard drives into convenient, sturdy, pull-out, removable drives you can take home or store in a secure location. Encryption models in our HDDM 200 series even make it possible to store the drive with encrypted data in one location and the decryption key in another.

Our HDDM 3350S removable drive mounting kit mounts three 3.5" SATA drives in two 5.25" drive bays. The Serial ATA (SATA/150) interface supports RAID 0, 1, and 5. Plug-and-Play and hot-swappable. Features an aluminum chassis and cooling fan for heat dissipation.

Pull-out drives made with DataPak mounting systems consist of three elements:

  • Frames permanently mounted in a drive bay in a computer.
  • Modules slide into the frames and are locked in with a key. We call the module/frame combination a "kit."
  • Hard drives mount inside modules and are rarely removed from them. (Hard drives sold separately.)

Choose a model that fits a 3.5" hard drive into a 5.25" drive bay:

For multiple 2.5" hard drives in a single bay, choose:

  • HDDM 2500 series can replace your floppy drive with two 2.5" IDE or SATA hard drives in a 3.5" drive bay.
  • HDDM 4250S for four 2.5" SATA drives in a 5.25" drive bay.

For multiple 3.5" hard drives in your spare (concurrent) 5.25" drive bays, choose:

  • HDDM 3350S for three 3.5" SATA drives in two 5.25" bays.
  • HDDM 4350S for four 3.5" SATA drives in three 5.25" bays.

There are three drive power buttons on the front panel. To remove or hot-swap a drive, simply press its power button on the front panel to power down the drive, then release the latch and gently pull the module out of the frame. The other drive will continue to run independently.

The rear panel has two 4-pin standard Molex male power inputs, two 15-pin SATA power connectors, and three SATA data connectors.  An 8-pin male header has signals for remote sensing of the temperature LED and fan-failure detection.

Indicator Details

In the event of fan failure or if temperature exceeds user-selectable limit of 55/60/65°C, buzzer sounds and LED in reset switch blinks red (pressing the reset switch silences the buzzer)

Individual switches illuminate to indicate drive status (steady green for power on, blinking orange for drive activity).
