Advanced Features
The PCIDAQ 1800 family has features not found on most A/D boards. A 256-location channel/gain queue allows high-speed nonsequential scanning of different signal types. It lets you select the order in which to scan the channels, how often each channel is to be scanned, and the individual gain setting for each channel, providing great flexibility in how your data is acquired.
Our PCIDAQ 1800 series is ideal for high-speed, gap-free data acquisition at up to 330,000 samples per second. All three cards share a common architecture and core features, with 12-bit and 16-bit (high-resolution) versions.
Two high-speed D/A channels allow you to update the output voltage at up to 200kHz. There are also 4 digital inputs and 4 digital output lines on these cards.
Gap-Free Performance Under Windows®
An on-board 1024-sample FIFO buffer ensures high-speed A/D can be maintained under Windows. Your data can be moved to PC memory via bus-mastering DMA for gap-free, continuous high-throughput data acquisition, even for large amounts of data.
Full Bus-Mastering Control
The PCI interface does more than just make the PCIDAQ 1800 simple to install. it provides full bus-mastering control of data transfers. This serves two purposes:
- It increases the data transfer rate far beyond what was possible with ISA-bus boards.
- It transfers data directly to your PC memory without intervention by your PC system. Your CPU can run your application, analyze data, and display it to the screen, rather than managing data transfers.
