PCI-Bus Serial Communications up to 460.8 kbps
CyberResearch's COMHP 7402 series are PCI-bus serial cards designed for RS-422/485 communications at up to 460.8 kbps. The boards come equipped with either the 16550 (COMHP 7402) or 16850 (COMHP 7402-E) standard. The 16550 features programmable baud rates, data format, and interrupt control, plus a 16-byte FIFO buffer. Upgrades to more advanced UARTs are available. The 16850 UART feature a deep 128-byte data buffer, which can increase the speed at which you can acquire data. A larger buffer makes it easier to program high-speed Windows® applications and allows you to achieve even higher data transmission rates (depending on the parameters of your application). This is a worthwhile hardware upgrade for medium- and high-performance applications.
The COMHP 7402 and COMHP 7402-E boards each include a cable breaking out the board's DB-37 (37-pin) connector to four DB-9 (9-pin) connectors. The COMHP 7402-D25 and COMHP 7402-E-D25 each include a cable breaking out the board's DB-37 (37-pin) connector to four DB-25 (25-pin) connectors.
All COMHP boards include a Windows NT setup utility, Win95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP, DOS, QNX and Linux COM: drivers, plus help files. The drivers maximize system resources through interrupt sharing under Win95/98/NT/ME/XP, so multiple I/O ports share the same IRQ level. |
