Ideal for both vehicles and desktops, keys on the OIX 5008 are backlit with red LEDs, so you can see characters on the keys, but don't lose your dark adaptation when you look at them. An "Emergency" key (at the top left of the keyboard) is mapped to Shift + F1 to launch a user-defined macro. All keys have full travel to facilitate touch typing, and the touchpad pointing device is extremely helpful if your vehicle is in motion. Also helpful during travel is the keyboard's resistance to 50g shocks and vibration up to 0.04 g/Hz from 20 to 2000 Hz in all three axes.
The coiled connector cable easily stretches to 6 feet without unduly straining either the USB connector (-U model) or PS/2 connector (-P model). Operating temperature range is 32 to 140°F (0 to 60°C). The bottom of the case has both 1.25" and 2.5" mounting holes so the keyboard can be firmly mounted to almost any surface. |
