Using bipolar chopper technology, our SMD Series drivers have made L/R drivers obsolete. They get your motor up to rated speed quickly and efficiently. Our popular SMD 102 driver is rated for up to 40,000 steps/second.
A 20kHz chopping rate eliminates all audible noise, and all inputs are
optically isolated for noise immunity. The SMD 102 is electronically selectable
between full- and half-step mode, letting you change on-the-fly without
mechanical adjustments. The driver packs a tremendous amount of power into a
miniature drive package. The integral heat sink helps maintain case temperature. An
auxiliary heat sink (SMD 110) is required to run the driver near rated output
without mounting it to a chassis.
