Our CYEXP RTD signal conditioning panels provide highly accurate signal excitation and amplification for up to 16 channels. All 16 differential analog inputs are multiplexed into a single analog output, so several hundred signals can be read by a single A/D converter board.
RTDs can create special signal conditioning problems because they require precise current and voltage excitation. The CYEXP RTD uses an on-board DC-to-DC converter and the highest quality analog components to create a highly accurate interface to these sensors.
RTDs are specialized resistors which change resistance with temperature. They come in 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire versions. 2-wire RTDs share excitation and signal on the same lines. 4-wire RTDs have 2 lines for excitation and 2 separate lines for the signal, a more accurate arrangement which eliminates any voltage drop caused by the lead wires. RTDs are capable of generating temperature measurements accurate to better than 1°C.
The CYEXP family also features an 8-channel RTD and bridge, or 16-channel bridge completion multiplexing panels, as well as 16-channel and 32-channel multiplexing terminal panels.
