Introduction
With our CYDIO boards you can turn your PC into an alarm system by sensing contact closures or use it to control lights, locks, motors, heaters, or any number of electronic devices that can be turned on and off. The high-current H models are powerful enough to light LEDs and drive solid-state relays. The CYDIO TTL models can sense and control 0 to 5V logic-level devices. For devices such as motors, you will need to purchase an electromechanical relay mounting panel or a buffered solid-state relay mounting panel (CYSSR or CYERB). Our CYDO boards can sink higher voltages (up to 50V) and up to 500mA current directly, without I/O modules. The CYDIO family maintains compatibility with the 8255 in software, thereby simplifying your programming and ensuring compatibility with third-party programs. CYDIO boards are guaranteed to be compatible with their MetraByte counterparts (PIO-12, PIO-24 and PIO-96), including hardware and software addressing. The 8255 is simple to program via ordinary IN and OUT statements.
