Introduction

Many factory-floor networks were designed and built when serial protocols such as RS-232/422/485/530 were the only practical choices. Now you can take advantage of the power and flexibility of Ethernet communications by attaching your serial devices with our CM 7188E8 intelligent Ethernet-to-serial converter.

The module is encased in a rugged industrial-grade plastic casing for plant and laboratory environments. It is easy to mount on a desktop, DIN rail, wall, or piggyback to another CM 7000 module. The LED display on the CM 7188E8D alternately flashes the last two groups of their network IP addresses for visual identification.
