Introduction

Our UCDAS 2002 series data acquisition modules provide 16 single-ended or 8 differential channels of 16-bit analog input data at speeds to 1MHz. The modules have input ranges from ±100mV to ±10V. For versatile, multifunction work, choose modules with either either two or four 16-bit D/A and 24 digital I/O lines, plus four 16- or 32-bit counters and two 16-bit frequency/pulse generators.

Counters on the modules can accept inputs from rotary shaft quadrature encoders with up to 2 billion pulses per revolution, 20MHz input frequencies, and x1, x2, or x4 count modes, as long as the encoder outputs are within the range of -5V to +10V.

See our UCDAS 2002DAB for our model with BNC connectors.

A/D Converter Settling Time ADC settling time defaults to 1 μs. Settling times can be programmed from 1μs to 1 s in 20.83-ns steps.
A/D Speed/Bandwidth Details With ADC settling time set at 1µs, a single chanel can be scanned at 1 MS/s, two channels at 500 kS/s, and 16 channels at 62.5 kS/s.  Programing a longer settling time reduces the number of samples that can be scanned per s.
Channel Queue Channel/gain queue lets you choose order and gain setting for channel sampling.
Channel Queue Size 512 positions
Queue Special Features Inputs can be scanned based on an internal programmable timer, signals from analog channels, DIO, or counters.

In addition to the four primary counters, there are two 16-bit frequency/pulse generators.  Each outputs a square wave at frequencies up to 1 MHz.

  • Output high:  2.0 V minimum @ -1mA or 2.9V min. @ -400µA.
  • Output low:  0.4V minimum @ 400µA.
