Use Opto 22 Relays with TTL-Level I/O Lines!
A solid-state relay requires more current to switch on than most Intel® 8255-based (TTL-level) digital I/O boards can provide. Output buffer chips built into our CYSSR 08 relay mounting rack provides 16mA of current sink per channel. By providing the current sink on the relay panel, we've made it possible to use solid-state relays with virtually any TTL-level digital I/O board, regardless of whether or not your digital I/O board provides a sufficiently high current sink.
The CYSSR 08 mounting rack can use standard or mini-size Opto 22-style solid-state relays (see our "CY" series). Each of the 8 positions can be used to mount a solid-state power controle module. Mix and match the input (sensing) and the output (relay) modules in 4- or 8-module groups, just as you would when mounting them on our standard CY PN24 panel.
A version with lift-off (detachable) terminal strips may be special-ordered (#CYSSR 08L), with a minimum order of 5 pieces. In the event the panel is damaged in the field, detachable terminal strips on the CYSSR 08L enable quick replacement of the terminal panel without needing to individually re-wire the terminals. |
