Our new USBS 0201 converter cable provides your PC with an asynchronous
serial port directly from an exisiting USB port. Its data-transfer speed of
230kbps is much higher than that needed by common RS-232 devices such as modems,
mice, and plotters. With the USBS 0201 you don't have to open the computer case,
use scare COM: ports, or fuss with IRQs, so long as you system supports USB.
The USBS 0201 converter is the smallest we've seen. The chipset is actually
contained within the DB-9M connector, which is scarcely larger than the
connector on ordinary RS-232 cables. The whole assembly weighs a mere 2.8 ounces
-- including the convenient 1m cable -- and the converter consumes less than
500mA @ +5VDC. Drivers are included for Windows® 98SE/2000/XP. |
